Overview
Reed's Crystallized Ginger Candy is a ginger candy made with sugar cane syrup. The syrup is made with sugar cane syrup extracted by a traditional method originated from the South Pacific Islands.
Making Process
“Reed's Crystallized Ginger is the only one we've found that is sweetened with raw cane instead of white sugar. Our tender Crystallized Ginger is custom-made for us in the South Pacific Islands. The process is an ancient one that hasn't changed much through time. After harvesting baby ginger (the most tender kind), the root is diced and then steeped in large vats filled with simmering raw cane syrup. Steeping for several days, the ginger is then removed and allowed to crystallize into soft, delicious nuggets."-Official Site
Taste
"My first try of this candy gave a bad first impression because it wasn't anything like I expected. Real ginger isn't sweet like a ginger bread man, but instead has a natural flavor with the same spiciness found in cinnamon candy."
Now that I've eaten a whole bag, I've started on another because they are just so good. They use baby ginger because it is the tenderest of its kind, and an "ancient steeping process" to make the nuggets."-Amazon User's Review
